DESCRIPTION:
Our "Light" CAN USB adapter is the USB version of our CAN-RS232 Adapter. Designed as low-cost, simple COM Port interface to the CANBus, the CAN USB Light Adapter provides a simple way to send and recieve messages over CAN. In command mode, using a PC terminal emulation program such as Hyperterminal, the device sends CAN messages directly onto a CAN network. The CAN USB Light adapter is great for users that need a basic 125K, 250K, or 500K baud adapter for CAN. Write your own CAN software interfacing to the CAN bus via a COM Port! A simple USB driver (included) and your application software is all the software required.
In virtual circuit mode, create a "Serial (RS232) Tunnel" over a CAN bus by using two CAN USB light devices on the network. Once configured you are using the CANbus network as the backbone for your serial communications.
Peak CAN Software and LabView drivers are NOT compatible with the CAN USB Light Adapter. If you want these capabilities then the CAN USB Performance Adapter is what you need.
